Gennady Zyuganov (Russian: Генна́дий Зюга́нов ) is Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and Leader of the CPRF deputies in the Russian Duma. Born in 1944 in the Oryol Region of Russia, he began his career as a rural schoolteacher. He studied in the School of Physics and Mathematics at Oryol Pedagogical Institute and from 1963-66 served in the Soviet Army. From 1983-90 he worked in the Propaganda and Ideology Department of the Soviet Communist Party and was one of the founders of the CPRF. Author’s
